About the Job

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Truck Technician to join our team in Cleveland, OH. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electronic issues, and ensuring our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles is in top condition.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance and diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electronic issues
  • Inspect and repair standard vehicle components, including brakes, tires, and suspension systems
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer systems and technical manuals
  • Identify root causes of failures and perform repairs as required
  • Replace defective components and perform facility maintenance duties as needed
  • Interact with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions
  • Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation to track work and maintain accurate records
  • Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines, including safety and regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance
  • Two years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
  • Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background and motor vehicle check
