Job Summary

The Licensed Optician is a key member of our team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that every customer leaves our store with a perfect pair of glasses. As an Optical Expert, you will be the face of our brand, providing expert advice and guidance to customers on the latest eyewear trends and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that every customer feels valued and supported throughout their shopping experience.
  • Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses, ensuring that every pair meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Act as a leader in optical acumen, providing expert advice and guidance to customers on the latest eyewear trends and technologies.
  • Take and record measurements, adjust or fit eyewear correctly, and ensure that finished eyewear meets standards and customer requirements.
  • Attract new customers and build strong relationships with existing ones, ensuring that they return to our store for all their eyewear needs.
  • Explore the needs and priorities of customers by asking open-ended questions and actively listening to their responses.
  • Be attentive to details, ask follow-up questions for clarity, and read verbal and non-verbal cues to ensure that every customer feels understood and supported.
  • Assist coworkers with difficult or complex areas of product needs and prescriptions, providing expert guidance and support when needed.
  • Utilize store tools and adhere to Brand Store Commitments, ensuring that every customer receives a seamless and exceptional shopping experience.
  • Perform work accurately and thoroughly, utilizing all technology despite time pressure and customer volume, and demonstrate superior product knowledge.
  • Anticipate problems, explore underlying reasons for customer issues, and strive to develop long-term solutions to problems, ensuring that every customer is satisfied and their expectations are exceeded.
  • Possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities, and commit to delivery dates and times.
  • Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies, and present, celebrate, and educate at pick-up.
  • Take pride in store appearance, show initiative to keep the store clean, attractive, and organized, and secure and protect company assets in your control.
  • Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Possess a 'can-do' spirit and strong drive for results, self-motivated with a desire for continual learning and improvement, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Sell on your feet 80-100% of the time, and perform additional duties as needed.

Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • State licensure
  • Optical dispensing experience
  • Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder
  • Knowledge of current store merchandise
  • Basic math skills
  • Awareness of current fashion trends
  • Selling skills - ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet
  • Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators
