Job Title: Senior Chemist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Chemist to join our team at the City of Oceanside. As a Senior Chemist, you will be responsible for performing complex chemical analyses and interpretations in a water or wastewater laboratory setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform instrumental, gravimetric, and volumetric analyses and interpretations
  • Develop and supervise experiments to provide solutions to water treatment and sewage treatment problems
  • Oversee and maintain laboratory quality assurance programs to meet Environmental Protection Agency and other regulatory requirements
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Three years of experience in a water or wastewater laboratory performing instrumental, gravimetric, and volumetric analyses and interpretations
  • Bachelor's degree in the physical, chemical, biological sciences, or a closely related field
  • California Laboratory Analyst, Grade III certification by the AWWA or CWEA
