Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal/Senior Principal Engineer for Component Design to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Engineering and Sciences organization, you will play a critical role in developing, designing, producing, and sustaining optimized product lines across the sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research, coordinate, and support technical engineering staff in the selection and qualification of electronic, electric, and electro-mechanical components/assemblies to ensure they meet product specifications and are reliable, effective, and sustainable.
  • Provide PM&P (Parts Material and Processes) management and analysis to support the next generation Ground Based Strategic Deterrence system.
  • Analyze preliminary plans and execute PMMP (Part and Material Management Plan) to achieve company, customer, and governmental agency objectives for product longevity.
  • Component Engineering is a key driver to creating a sustainable system with qualified parts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, for Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, STEM degree or related discipline with 5 years of experience; or 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree; or 0 years experience with a PhD;
  • An additional 4 years of relevant experience/education can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's of Science Degree;
  • Experience with design, reliability, or maintenance, or component engineering;
  • Experience working within an Agile framework (Kanban, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint);
  • Experience in electronic and/or mechanical component analysis and selection;
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen;
Preferred Qualifications
  • Domain EEE subject matter expertise (programmable logic, RF, power, radiation hardening, etc...);
  • 2 years working with SD-19, SD-22, and MIL STD 11991A;
  • 2 years using IHS Part Intelligence, GIDEP, Part Finder or equivalent;
  • 2 years working Knowledge of FRACAS and reliability engineering a plus;
  • 2 years using DLA ASSIST and/or DLA Qualified Products Database (QPD/QPL);
  • 2 year working with CPLM, Teamcenter PLM;
  • 2 years knowledge of DFARS requirements for counterfeit components;
