Job Description

Restaurant Supervisor

The Restaurant Supervisor is a key member of the Palmas Restaurant Group team, responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant. This individual will assist in supporting, coaching, and directing the front-of-house restaurant team to ensure that each team member meets and exceeds standards and achieves daily goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership Support: Provide leadership support for the front-of-house team, which may include opening or closing shifts as well as leading daily front-of-house restaurant operations.
  • Team Development: Assist in supporting, directing, and coaching the front-of-house restaurant team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Assist with guest satisfaction checks and provide guest recovery as needed to ensure high standards of customer service are met at all times.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety within the restaurant are met, and that food safety regulations and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Alcohol Service: Ensure all state and federal alcohol service guidelines are followed at all times.
  • Training and Development: Assist in the training and development of front-of-house team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Scheduling and Coaching: Assist in the scheduling of the front-of-house team as necessary, and provide coaching and counseling as needed to ensure team members are meeting expectations.
  • Communication: Consistently communicate all necessary information to the restaurant team to ensure everyone is aware of their responsibilities and expectations.
Requirements
  • Work Experience: Minimum of one year of food and beverage experience, with previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of Mexican cuisine and beverages a plus, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Certifications: Must have or be able to obtain a State of Florida Food Safety Certificate and a Florida Responsible Vendors Certificate.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to perform all necessary job functions, including standing and being mobile for up to 4 consecutive hours, and lifting and carrying equipment/food up to 50 pounds.
  • Environmental Conditions: Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including coolers, freezers, kitchen environments, and outdoors.
  • Communication: Must be able to communicate and interact politely and effectively with guests of all types.
