Composite Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Composite Operator to join our team at Carfair Composites. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing various functions within the RTM, Grinding/Trimming, and Lamination areas. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the highest quality product and meeting customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment by following standard work methods and adhering to safety protocols.
• Lay and shape fiberglass mat and other materials onto molds.
• Pump or spray resin/catalyst into molds.
• Use a variety of air-powered hand tools to trim excess, grind, and drill holes on parts as directed by blueprints.
• Maintain a daily schedule to ensure customer shipments are on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Work Environment:

This role requires the use of safety equipment, including safety glasses, dust masks, respirators, face shields, hearing protection, chemical suits, gloves, and aprons. You will be frequently exposed to hot conditions, humid environments, dust, fumes, airborne particles, and non-hazardous chemical agents. Occasionally, you may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. Regularly, you will be exposed to vibration, and occasionally, you may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

Physical Demands:

As a Composite Operator, you will be required to stand for up to 10 hours, frequently lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds, and have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of small hand tools. You must be able to read and comprehend written and oral instructions in English, as well as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and material identifications. Effective communication skills are essential for this role, as you will need to interact with colleagues and management.
