We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team at Northside Hospital. As a key member of our interdependent team, you will play a vital role in achieving positive patient and unit outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate Patient Care: You will be responsible for coordinating the care of low and high-risk laboring women of childbearing age and the immediate stabilization of the newborn following delivery.
- Comprehensive Assessment: You will complete a comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs, identifying outcomes based on the needs assessment, establishing care plans, and monitoring the progress of laboring patients and modifying the care plan as needed.
- Effective Communication: You will demonstrate commitment to the service excellence principles of Northside Hospital, communicating effectively with patient/family, physicians, the interdependent team, and other disciplines regarding plan of care.
- Patient Education: You will identify and document the needs of the patient and family and provide individualized education.
- Unit Goals: You will participate in the development and achievement of unit goals and perform all other related duties as assigned, including providing intrapartum, antepartum, and intraoperative patient care.
- Education and Licensure: You must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
- Experience: You must have a minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training.
- Certifications: You must be certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) and other unit-specific cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications.
- Additional Requirements: Please refer to the specific clinical unit for additional education, competencies, and/or certification required as a condition of employment.
- BSN Degree: A BSN degree is preferred.
- National Certification: National Certification in Clinical Specialty is preferred.
