Job SummaryAs a Helicopter Pilot with Air Methods, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. This role requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail, with a focus on compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, completing pre-flight checks and verifying the aircraft's airworthiness.
- Final authority with regard to aircraft operations and passenger safety, with a thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems.
- Responsible for completion of required documentation and conducting detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards.
- Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach initiatives.
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Commercial & Instrument Rating (for category and class of aircraft), ATP rating in category meets this requirement.
- First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
