Job Summary

Under the direction of the Charge Nurse, DSD and/or DON, the Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for delivering high-quality patient/resident care according to established policies and procedures and within acceptable nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, families, co-workers, and vendors in a manner that ensures satisfaction.
  • Manage medication effectively.
  • Adhere to infection control techniques in performing patient/resident care.
  • Monitor and report signs and symptoms of changes in condition.
  • Exchange information necessary for quality patient/resident care.
  • Prioritize patient/resident activities based on current care needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation as required by Federal and State regulations and Company policy.
  • Document patient/resident care effectively, including electronic record keeping.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner, using equipment correctly and safely, and following department safety protocols at all times.
  • Follow highest standards of cleanliness and adhere to all federal, state, and corporate policies, health codes, and guidelines in preparation and handling of foodstuffs.
  • Attend all mandatory in-service meetings and comply with all department and facilities policies and procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Current CNA certification on file. Experience in long-term care community health, geriatric, and/or rehabilitative nursing is desirable. Knowledgeable in current State and Federal regulation.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Basic mathematical skills required.
  • Ability to understand, follow, support, and initiate policies and procedures of the facility. Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately.
