Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Neuroscience Research Director to join our team at Saint Luke's Health System (Kansas City). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neuroscience research, excellent leadership and team management skills, and a proven track record of research productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for neuroscience research at Saint Luke's Health System
  • Lead a major research program, including strategic planning, recruitment of investigators, and budget management
  • Collaborate with the Office of Research Services to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including research institutions, sponsors, and funding sources
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to neuroscience clinician investigators, staff, and trainees
  • Participate in regular reviews of neuroscience research portfolio performance
Requirements
  • MD/DO degree and PhD in Neurology, Neurosurgery, or Neuroscience-related field
  • 6-10 years of experience in conducting and managing large and/or complex research projects/programs
  • Established national/international reputation as a leader in a neuroscience research-related field
  • Track record of research productivity, including presentations at national and international conferences, peer-reviewed publications, and extramural funding
  • Associate Professor or higher academic rank or commensurate rank from alternate career position
