Job Summary:As an Exercise Physiologist at Sarah Bush Lincoln, you will play a critical role in providing treatment for patients with cardiac and pulmonary diseases through our outpatient rehabilitation program. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing personalized exercise plans, conducting diagnostic stress testing, and educating patients on lifestyle management and disease prevention.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for rehab patients, incorporating exercise prescription, risk factor reduction, and short- and long-term goals.
Maintain current knowledge of ACSM standards for exercise prescription and testing, serving as a resource to staff and medical staff members.
Organize and implement lifestyle management programs, grant programs, and conferences, promoting the charitable mission of Sarah Bush Lincoln.
Perform initial assessments and orientations for rehabilitation patients, evaluating patient status and readiness to begin rehab.
Conduct regular stress, cardiolite stress, and stress echo tests, documenting history and medications, and monitoring electrocardiogram during tests.
Prepare patients for pharmacologic stress testing, inserting saline locks, and assisting RNs with testing.
Promote the charitable mission of Sarah Bush Lincoln by serving as a resource to public schools, universities, and civic groups, speaking about exercise, risk factors for heart disease, and lifestyle management.
Requirements:
MS in Kinesiology (Required)
ACLS certification within 90 days of hire
BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire
