Key Responsibilities

  • Dishwashing: Operate commercial dishwashing machinery to effectively clean and sanitize kitchenware, utensils, and equipment.
  • Sanitation Standards: Ensure all kitchen items and equipment are cleaned and sanitized in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Kitchen Assistance: Support kitchen personnel with various tasks, including food preparation, inventory control, and general cleanliness.
  • Equipment Oversight: Monitor dishwashing machinery for optimal performance and report any malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
  • Organizational Duties: Maintain cleanliness and order in the dishwashing area, including the proper storage of sanitized kitchenware.
  • Safety Protocols: Follow safety guidelines and procedures while handling cleaning agents and operating machinery.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Assist with special projects, events, and other tasks as required to support the overall objectives of the kitchen and the wider community.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a dishwashing or kitchen utility role, ideally within a food service or healthcare environment.
  • Understanding of sanitation and hygiene practices relevant to dishwashing and food service.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate commercial dishwashing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and capacity to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Physical endurance to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in food safety or sanitation is advantageous.
  • A positive demeanor and readiness to collaborate with a diverse team.
