We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our Internal Medicine team at Ascension St. Vincent in Indiana.

Estimated Salary: $43,000 - $53,000 per year

Job Description

The Medical Support Specialist will assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician or advanced practice provider. This includes assisting with treatments ordered by the provider as supervised by the provider or registered nurse.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with select clinical duties
  • Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patient charts
  • Preparing treatment rooms for examination of patients
  • Performing basic clerical duties, including answering phone calls and maintaining records
  • Assisting with maintaining a clean and orderly environment
  • Documenting provider encounters with patients
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required
  • Medical Assistant certification obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date required
  • High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required
