Position Summary

Our rapidly expanding production firm is in search of a Logistics and Warehouse Operations Manager. This role provides the successful candidate with the chance to leverage their expertise, acquire new skills, and collaborate as part of a dynamic team in a clean and safe setting. The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in the manufacturing industry, focusing on warehouse management, logistics, and leadership, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety. Furthermore, the selected candidate will be driven to advance their career over the long term. Flexibility regarding work schedules and shift preferences is essential.

Key Responsibilities of the Logistics and Warehouse Operations Manager:

  • Oversee and manage outbound logistics, including both on-site and off-site warehouse inventory, as well as the transportation of finished products.
  • Build and maintain relationships, negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers for logistics providers and the inbound supply of raw materials.
  • Work closely with customer service and sales teams to evaluate strategic logistics opportunities.
  • Plan and allocate resources for warehouse picking and shipping processes to ensure timely shipments that meet customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure warehouse operations align with other functions such as production and purchasing.
  • Support operational processes, including inspection, receiving, storage, material usage, order picking, and both inbound and outbound shipments, along with the handling and disposition of materials.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, variance investigations, and quarterly and annual physical inventories.
  • Manage departmental KPIs, including visual controls, and communicate status updates to management.
  • Identify root causes of issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Develop and execute lean initiatives to ensure continuous improvement in processes.
  • Ensure employee compliance with company policies and production procedures.

Qualifications for the Logistics and Warehouse Operations Manager:

Experience:

  • Prior supervisory experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or similar environment.
  • Experience in the food industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is desired; MS Dynamics experience is preferred, and Aptean experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required.

  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.

Administrative Skills:

  • Experience in tracking budget expenses.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in managing processes and process improvement.
  • Forklift certification is preferred; Forklift Trainer certification is a plus.
  • CDL certification is an advantage.
