Job Title: Senior Design Engineer, Actuation

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our Actuation Design Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing hydro/electromechanical and mechanical components and systems for flight control applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new product requirements through consulting with customers and sales personnel.
  • Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.
  • Be an important contributor to a design proposal team in preparing a design, estimating costs, and helping to write the technical volume.
  • Operate as an important element in a team of creative, independent individuals, soliciting and being sensitive to design feedback.
  • Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.
  • Create reliable designs through a comprehensive experimental development test program.
  • Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports.
  • Consult on new product and market development efforts.
  • Maintain currency with materials technology, industry design requirements (Military, FAA, NASA, etc.), and modern design analysis tools.
  • When applicable, supervise less experienced engineers and project/product engineering technicians.
  • Travel to customers as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Minimum 8+ years of professional design/development engineering work experience creating designs of electromechanical and mechanical components.
  • This job requires access to United States export-controlled information.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Broad background in design analysis, including stress analysis, kinematics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, and vibration.
  • Experience with closed loop systems, servomechanisms, fracture mechanics, and Computer Aided Design.
  • DoD security clearance.
  • Experience with Siemens NX software is a plus.
