Ophthalmology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmology Specialist to join our team at the University of Rochester. As a key member of our medical faculty group, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of ophthalmology.
Responsibilities- Coordinate daily activities of assigned ophthalmic technicians and develop weekly schedules to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Oversight of ophthalmic technician training program to ensure staff is performing at required skill level.
- Perform as a ophthalmic technician and float in to cover specialty services when staffing shortages occur.
- Chair bi-monthly technician team meetings and ensure follow-up items are addressed.
- Provide regular feedback to Faculty Practice Manager on staffing concerns, performance issues, and opportunities for organizational improvements.
- Assist with recruitment and hiring process for ophthalmic technicians and provide input on performance evaluations.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in ophthalmic technical field.
Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience with COA certification; or 5 years of relevant experience and COA certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with COA certification. Preferred COT certification.

Pay Range: $26.73 - $37.40 Hourly
