Job Overview

The Laboratory Technician II role will involve engaging in testing and observational tasks. The candidate should also be capable of establishing and maintaining a data collection database, providing comprehensive documentation support to scientists and senior staff as required. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Required Qualifications

Essential Skills and Qualifications

* Associate degree or completion of a 2-year technical program
* At least five years of relevant experience
* Practical knowledge of scientific or engineering principles to interpret accurate data collection and entry methods. Familiarity with mathematics or computer science may also be necessary
* Ability to generate detailed test data reports utilizing electronic and computer-based records, files, and documentation
* Inputting test data into specialized systems for analytical purposes
* Creating work diagrams, basic data reports, and data flow charts using standard software applications
* Additional tasks may include those associated with Scientific Technician I responsibilities
* Strong observational and note-taking abilities, with the capacity to convert notes into formal observations and incident reports
* Effective communication skills
* Competence in setting up and maintaining a data collection database
* Providing documentation support to scientists and senior staff as needed

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

* The responsibilities of this position may be carried out in a controlled office environment or outdoors at the testing facility
* Must be able to sit and input data on a computer keyboard for extended periods
* Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance
* Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the role

Employment Terms and Eligibility Criteria

Must be a U.S. Citizen
* Successful completion of a background check is required
* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain it throughout the duration of employment
* High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory
* A valid driver's license without special restrictions is required
