Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Improvement Engineer to join our team at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital. As a key member of our Operations and Process Improvement team, you will play a critical role in driving strategy execution, continuous performance improvement efforts, and transformational initiatives across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams in process improvement initiatives, leveraging Lean management and Six Sigma methodologies to drive efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership, directors, managers, physicians, and staff to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities, focusing on finance, access, quality, efficiency, and other operational metrics.
  • Develop and implement effective communication methods to keep staff and stakeholders informed about improvement activities and departmental goals.
  • Coach process owners, directors, and staff in the use of daily management system elements, accountability processes, problem-solving, and waste elimination techniques.
  • Support reporting requests and data management/analysis functions to maximize outcomes while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, process engineering, applied sciences, or related field, or healthcare/business administration with Lean management or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Five years of experience in quality engineering/process improvement or related field; may consider Houston Methodist employee with four years of experience in quality engineering/process improvement or related field.
  • Three years of experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in industrial engineering, process engineering, applied sciences, or related field.
  • Lean management or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
