Position Overview:
The role of the Automotive Maintenance Specialist involves executing mechanical tasks related to the upkeep and repair of vehicles, as well as light and heavy machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts mechanical repair work on a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and heavy machinery.
  • Inspects, tests, and diagnoses issues across multiple systems of vehicles or equipment, including but not limited to engines, electrical systems, and brake systems.
  • Evaluates vehicles to identify necessary repairs or maintenance; performs diagnostic testing and collaborates with operators to gather insights on issues.
  • Assists with and performs necessary repairs, replacements, and maintenance on vehicle systems and components.
  • Engages in general welding tasks, repairing broken parts and ensuring structural integrity.
  • Implements routine and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including fluid checks and replacements.
  • Diagnoses and repairs refrigeration system components, ensuring compliance with recovery and recycling protocols.
  • Operates various machinery and tools essential for the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Tests vehicles and equipment for optimal performance and functionality.
  • Maintains accurate records of repairs and services performed.
  • Ensures tools and equipment are kept in operable condition through regular cleaning and maintenance.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and monitors the work environment to ensure the safety of all personnel.
  • Completes necessary documentation and communicates effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Stays informed about new practices and advancements in the automotive field.

Additional Functions:
This position is classified as safety-sensitive and is subject to drug and alcohol testing as per established policies. Provides support to other departments as needed and performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED, supplemented by vocational training in mechanics and automotive maintenance, along with two years of relevant experience. Must possess valid ASE Technician Certification in Brakes and maintain a valid driver's license.
