KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities encompass operating advanced multi-axis computer numerical control (CNC) milling machines or lathes to accurately machine surfaces of both metallic and non-metallic components.

REQUIREMENTS:

To excel in this role, an individual must be capable of executing each of the Major Responsibilities, which include:


• Loading materials into the machine and initiating the operation while monitoring the cutting process.


• Completing machine setup with minimal guidance and within a reasonable timeframe.


• Independently making offsets to finalize the setup procedure.


• Setting up and replacing tools without oversight.


• Identifying tool wear before it impacts dimensions.


• Making basic program adjustments on machines as necessary.


• Comparing numerical data displays with specifications outlined in operation sheets.


• Adjusting tool lengths and fixture offsets when required.


• Monitoring tool usage to ensure maximum cost efficiency.


• Ensuring the accuracy and quality of machined parts.


• Understanding and documenting the requirements of Inspection Plans.


• Authorized to halt processes to maintain quality standards.


• Responsible for machine handovers to the next shift operators.


• Willingness to work overtime as needed.


• Performing additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

An Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution; or at least one year of relevant experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:


• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, routers, and inspection protocols.


• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.


• Capability to understand G and M code programming.

MATH SKILLS:


• Proficient in mathematical concepts including fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, or the ability to utilize a trigonometry reference.


• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical scenarios is preferred.

PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:


• Capable of addressing practical problems and managing a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.


• Ability to interpret a range of instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:


• Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude.


• Operates basic measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, surface plate checks, and optical comparators.
