Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Highmark Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing MRI imaging procedures, analyzing results, and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging Procedures: Position patients and perform MRI imaging procedures with precision and accuracy, analyzing results to identify any issues with image quality.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure their understanding and cooperation.
  • Contrast Media Administration: Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice, monitoring patient condition and reporting/responding to changes in status as necessary.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Prepare equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, and implementing safety standards and quality control procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree or Certification from a technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications: Radiography Certification (R) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification and Registration (N) or Radiation Therapy Certification and Registration (RT) through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or any American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification.
  • MRI Certification: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Certification through ARRT or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARMRIT) is required within 18 months of hire.
  • CPR and Background Clearances: CPR - American Heart Association and Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 clearances.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior Experience: Prior experience working as a MRI Technologist.
