Job Responsibilities

As a Direct Support Professional, your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct support to clients with intellectual disabilities and autism, enabling them to participate in daily activities and achieve their goals
  • Developing and implementing personalized support plans to promote client independence and self-advocacy
  • Collaborating with colleagues and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care services
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting on client progress and challenges
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • An understanding of the principles of person-centered support and advocacy
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to changing situations
