Responsibilities
- Maintain an inviting and organized classroom environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.
- Engage in ongoing communication with parents regarding each child's progress and development.
- Deliver tailored educational programs that reflect individual learning styles.
- For Kindergarten, provide innovative instruction that integrates Montessori materials with established educational standards.
- Oversee classroom activities, collaborating with assistants to support all students effectively.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills to enhance classroom management.
- Plan, develop, and implement curriculum while keeping materials organized and accessible.
- Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, curriculum coverage, and observations for each child.
- Continuously learn about each child's interests and learning styles to support holistic development.
- Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with team members to enhance educational practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Montessori classroom setting (ages 3-6).
- Proficient in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Completed training at an accredited Montessori institution (AMS or AMI).
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field.
- Strong communication skills.
- One year of in-person internship experience at a Montessori school.
- Deep understanding of Montessori principles and a passion for alternative education.
- Ability to effectively manage a diverse group of children.
