Responsibilities

  • Maintain an inviting and organized classroom environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.
  • Engage in ongoing communication with parents regarding each child's progress and development.
  • Deliver tailored educational programs that reflect individual learning styles.
  • For Kindergarten, provide innovative instruction that integrates Montessori materials with established educational standards.
  • Oversee classroom activities, collaborating with assistants to support all students effectively.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills to enhance classroom management.
  • Plan, develop, and implement curriculum while keeping materials organized and accessible.
  • Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, curriculum coverage, and observations for each child.
  • Continuously learn about each child's interests and learning styles to support holistic development.
  • Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with team members to enhance educational practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Montessori classroom setting (ages 3-6).
  • Proficient in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Completed training at an accredited Montessori institution (AMS or AMI).
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • One year of in-person internship experience at a Montessori school.
  • Deep understanding of Montessori principles and a passion for alternative education.
  • Ability to effectively manage a diverse group of children.
  • Exemplary role model for children and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
