Nurse Director Position

VitalCore Health Strategies is a leading provider of correctional healthcare services.
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Director to join our team at the Massachusetts Department of Correction North Central Correctional Institution in Gardner, MA.
About the Role:
The Nurse Director will be responsible for supervising and coordinating nursing personnel in one or more patient care units. They will verify that patients' needs are met and evaluate nursing care and patient care unit performance.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule Management: Develop and manage a monthly schedule for nursing staff to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Clinical Supervision: Provide clinical supervision to nursing staff and implement work processes to achieve contract requirements and healthcare policies.
- Performance Improvement: Evaluate patient care delivery processes and identify areas for improvement. Participate in site-level Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) committee.
- Accreditation Readiness: Conduct annual accreditation readiness audits and develop action plans to improve compliance with accreditation standards.
- Recruitment and Staff Development: Perform screening interviews with candidates and sets recruitment standards. Identify high-potential staff for development and promotion.
- Orientations and Continuing Education: Coordinate and monitor orientation activities for new hires and staff transitioning to different roles. Facilitate in-service training and continuing education for nursing and ancillary personnel.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nursing School required. Bachelor or Master's Degree in nursing preferred.
- Licensure: Licensed to practice nursing in the State, board-certified or board-eligible in medicine, and has training and experience providing services to an adult population.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with correctional healthcare experience preferred.
- Specialty Certification: Specialty certification in correctional healthcare is desired (Certified Correctional Health Professional: CCHP, Certified Correctional Health Professional Nurse: CCHP-RN).
