We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Service Specialist to join our team at the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet. As a key member of our Prevention and Evidence-Based Practices Branch, you will play a critical role in providing expert consultative services to support the well-being of children and families across the Commonwealth.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultation and training to staff on prevention services, including evidence-based practices and family preservation strategies.
- Plan, implement, and monitor initiatives related to the Family First Prevention Services Act, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with providers to develop and deliver training and information on evidenced-based practices, promoting best practices in child welfare.
- Draft and complete legislative bill reviews, proposals, and presentations on in-home and prevention services, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
- Coordinate and develop budget and contract language regarding Title IV-E reimbursement, ensuring accurate and timely payment processing.
- Oversee the delivery of the Family Preservation and Reunification Services (FPRS) program, ensuring high-quality services and outcomes for families and children.
- Manage provider budgets, data analysis, and reporting, providing regular updates to stakeholders and leadership.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and internal teams, promoting collaboration and coordination to achieve departmental goals.
- A master's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
- Three years of professional social work experience, with a strong background in child welfare and prevention services.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong public speaking skills, with experience presenting to large groups and stakeholders.
- Good time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
