North Point Technology is on the lookout for a skilled Kubernetes Engineer to support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's (NGA) mission in geospatial intelligence. This role involves leveraging advanced technologies to enhance the accuracy of geospatial data.
Essential Qualifications:- Proven expertise in establishing, administering, and scaling Kubernetes environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, components, and API functionalities.
- Experience with Kubernetes networking, security measures, and storage solutions.
- Proficient in managing Kubernetes resources, including Pods, Services, Deployments, and ConfigMaps.
- Strong background in Docker, encompassing the creation, management, and optimization of container images.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and container orchestration.
- Experience in developing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Integration of Kubernetes with CI/CD processes for automated deployment workflows.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Go.
- Automation of Kubernetes operations utilizing tools such as Helm, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Capability to establish alerting, logging, and monitoring systems for Kubernetes clusters and applications.
- Experience with cloud service providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure, particularly with managed Kubernetes services (EKS, GKE, AKS).
- Understanding of cloud-native principles and associated tools.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, Network Policies, and Pod Security Policies.
- Experience with service mesh implementation and troubleshooting techniques.
- Understanding of Kubernetes networking concepts, including Ingress controllers and CNI plugins.
- Experience in optimizing Kubernetes clusters for enhanced performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Familiarity with autoscaling, load balancing, and resource allocation strategies.
- Implementation of backup strategies and disaster recovery plans for Kubernetes environments.
- Experience with tools like Velero for Kubernetes backup and restoration.
- Experience working within a DevOps culture and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Collaborative skills to work effectively with development, operations, and security teams.
- Certification as a Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) is advantageous.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Architect) are beneficial.
