Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Rehabilitation Unit, you will be accountable for conducting patient assessments, formulating a care plan, executing, and evaluating care.
- Conduct and document patient assessments upon admission.
- Develop a care plan, including discharge plans, modify plans based on patient responses to treatment, and regularly assess plans for effectiveness.
- Document the outcomes of nursing interventions and patient responses.
- Provide educational materials to patients and families regarding care and treatments.
- Administer medications and perform treatments in accordance with hospital policy.
- Perform venipuncture, administer and maintain IV fluids and medications.
- Review all new physician orders, ensure that orders are executed and documented accurately, and confirm that other departments are informed of orders and services.
- Deliver accurate and relevant patient information reports to the Charge Nurse and the incoming shift to ensure continuity of care.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care environment.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) – preferred.
