About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical suites, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our perioperative registered nurses to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and organized environment in the surgical suite, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the perioperative registered nurse to provide individualized age-specific care to patients, ensuring their physiologic responses to surgery are as expected.
  • Participate in the preparation and maintenance of surgical equipment, supplies, and instruments.
  • Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and transfer to and from the operating room.
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited technical program in surgical technology or a related field.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Successful completion of all orientation and departmental programs with documentation.
