We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at Methodist Hospital Metropolitan, a leading healthcare provider in downtown San Antonio.

About the Role

As a Respiratory Care Practitioner II, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care services. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and provide exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways.
  • Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response.
  • Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 90 days of employment start date.
  • BASIC CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Vocational School Graduate
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP), or State Registered Respiratory Therapist
