Physical Therapy Instructor

The County of Los Angeles Department of Health Services is seeking a highly qualified Physical Therapy Instructor - Los Angeles County to join our team. As a Physical Therapy Instructor, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing formal and informal physical therapy education courses and clinical training programs for students, interns, graduate physical therapists, and therapy assistants.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing training program curriculum using various teaching methods and reference materials for patient education, in-service, or continuing and affiliate education programs, seminars, and workshops.
- Providing instructions to therapists or students by conducting training on patients in a medical setting such as acute medical, psychiatric, or rehabilitation hospital, outpatient clinics, or California Children's Services Medical Therapy Units.
- Collaborating with therapy supervisory personnel in planning and implementing evaluation criteria to measure the effectiveness of education and treatment training programs to improve the education process.
Requirements include:
- Graduation from a physical therapy curriculum acceptable to the Commission on Accreditation on Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association and approved by the Physical Therapy Board of California-AND-Three years of experience in the practice of physical therapy one year of which must have been in a supervisory or teaching capacity.
- A Master's degree from an accredited college/university in physical therapy, public health, special education, or a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
