Key Responsibilities

The Department of Surgery at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine is in search of a skilled Colon and Rectal Surgeon to enhance its clinical team. This role includes a dual appointment at Loyola University Medical Center and the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital.

The clinical program encompasses a wide range of services, addressing both benign and malignant colorectal conditions, inflammatory bowel diseases, anorectal issues, and functional disorders. Strong collaboration with specialists in oncology, urogynecology, gynecologic oncology, and gastroenterology is a hallmark of this position. Proficiency in laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques is essential, alongside a keen interest in endoscopic procedures. The role also involves active participation in multidisciplinary initiatives, particularly with the pelvic floor disorder and GI oncology teams.

Candidates must be board certified or eligible in both Colon and Rectal Surgery and General Surgery, showcasing a commitment to clinical excellence, education, research, and service to the institution. Teaching and mentoring responsibilities for general surgery residents are integral to this position, and clinical research is highly encouraged. Academic rank and compensation will be aligned with experience, with potential leadership opportunities available within the Division for qualified candidates.
