The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. This compensation package reflects the company's commitment to attracting and retaining top talent in the industry.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Radiology Operations Manager to join our team at Optum. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our imaging services. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly technologist schedules to coordinate with current radiologist staffing and maximize workflow
  • Communicating daily departmental staffing challenges to all relevant departments
  • Performing clinical exams as needed in any location
  • Organizing and approving add-on 'stat' exams to maximize workflow within the department
  • Assisting the Radiology Manager in developing clinical x-ray protocols for use within the practice
  • Leading contact in preparing and overseeing DOH inspections and Practice Health and Safety inspections
  • Independently resolving issues and coordinating departmental resources to facilitate workflow
  • Maintaining daily contact with Radiology Managers in US and Women's Imaging
  • Informing the Radiology Manager of all departmental activities needing supervisory action
  • Performing employee relations duties, including evaluations, corrective action, time cards, etc.
  • Responsible for machine maintenance and record-keeping of any type
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality in all aspects
  • Maintenance of supplies and ordering systems for each location
  • Ensuring technologist compliance in credentialing and mandatory trainings

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate or Bachelor's degree in radiology, health care administration, public health, business administration, or related field
  • ARRT certification/licensure
  • NYS Radiology License
  • 3+ years of experience as a technologist with 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with staff and physicians
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to function independently in administrative tasks
  • Knowledge of standard policies, procedures, and protocols to supervise the department directly
  • Skills in identifying and resolving problems
