Oak Hill has been a leader in enhancing the lives of people with disabilities since 1893. We are seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional Instruction to join our team of professionals. As a partner in education, you will work closely with our experienced teachers to provide academic and vocational instruction to students with varying disabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provide academic and vocational instruction and support for individual students inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Create and maintain a supportive learning environment and model appropriate behaviors to assist students in developing social skills.
  • Assist with planning instructional content and activities that are aligned with standards and provide for an appropriate level of challenge for all students.
  • Assist with ongoing observation and assessment, record instructional and behavioral data, and develop techniques to reinforce learning.
  • Modify materials and implement instructional and behavior management strategies for students under the direct supervision of the Special Education teacher.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in education, child development, or a related field, or enrollment in a higher education program leading to a degree in education, child development, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience and completion of required OHS curriculum within 3 months of hire.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • A Public Service license with a V endorsement is required during the initial employment period, and this is facilitated through Oak Hill.
