Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth: Childcare Assistant Position

This role offers a supportive environment for preschool-aged children and infants, allowing parents to attend parish activities. We are seeking a caring and responsible individual to ensure the safety and well-being of our young guests.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise preschool children and infants, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Assist with diapering and toileting needs.
  • Promote the safety and comfort of the children.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and volunteers.

Typical Decisions and Recommendations:
  • Evaluate situations requiring 9-1-1 assistance.
  • Decide when a child's health changes warrant parental pickup.
  • Assess behavior issues that may necessitate parental involvement.

Supervision and Education:
  • Reports to the Childcare Coordinator.
  • Supervised by the Business Manager.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active practicing member of the Catholic Church in good standing.
  • Experience in childcare.
  • Completion of the Parish Safe Environment process, including a background check.
  • First aid and CPR certification.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Standing, walking, sitting, lifting 40+ pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Weekday, weekend, and occasional evening hours are required.

Estimated Salary: $35,000 - $45,000 per year
