About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Great Lakes. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
  • Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instrument counts throughout procedures.
  • Assist surgeons in providing hemostasis during surgery.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or associate degree, or technical degree required.
  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 months of hire date or job transfer date.
  • CST Certification is preferred. Hospital/Surgery/OR experience is required.
