Thom Child & Family Services is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide home and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers who have or are at risk for developmental delays and their families.


As an Occupational Therapist, you will work in a coaching model, partnering with parents/caregivers to ensure service delivery is individualized, meaningful for the family, and grounded in evidence-based practice.

Through this collaborative process, you will ensure families' priorities, needs, culture, and values are prioritized.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the development of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) with responsibility for identifying goals, objectives, and strategies related to the Communication area of development.
  • Providing direct services to clients according to their IFSP's, including home visits, child groups, and parent groups.
  • Monitoring developmental milestones and progress with parents/caregivers to inform the ongoing need for direct service, consultation, and/or assessment.
  • Providing ongoing consultation to multidisciplinary team members regarding Communication areas of development and any other client-specific issues.
  • Completing progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate.
  • Participating in developmental screenings in the community.


Requirements include:

  • Current MA Occupational Therapist or ability to obtain (CF welcome).
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Strong ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
  • Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally informed services.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Recognition of the importance of, and respect for, confidentiality.
  • Good computer skills as well as strong documentation skills.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual/Bicultural a plus.
