Position Overview:
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Medicine Journal is tasked with providing both direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Team members are equipped to achieve the highest standards of practice in accordance with state regulations.
Responsibilities include coordinating patient care and supporting patients, families, and caregivers in self-management and behavior modification.
The LPN is responsible for managing the patient population effectively and participating in quality improvement initiatives and performance assessments.Qualifications:
Must be a graduate from an accredited Nursing School.
Experience:
Essential:
Understanding of fundamental nursing principles and clinical skills; familiarity with organizational policies and regulations; awareness of current healthcare trends and advancements.
Desirable:
Prior experience in a medical office environment.
Licensure/Certification Requirements
Essential:
Active LPN license in the relevant state, BLS Certification required prior to unit assignment and maintained thereafter.
Desirable:
ACLS Certification, PALS Certification
Role Responsibilities:
Ability to evaluate patients, develop, implement, and assess care plans. Proficient in administering medications as prescribed, performing clinical procedures, and utilizing necessary medical equipment for patient care as designated.
The LPN must demonstrate the requisite knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care for patients in their assigned area.
They must possess the capability to analyze data reflecting the patient's condition and interpret the necessary information to identify each patient's needs relative to their age-specific requirements, ensuring appropriate care as outlined in the unit's protocols.
The LPN will operate as an extension of the physician, overseeing, planning, and organizing various clinical and patient flow activities. Additionally, they will support other operational functions under the guidance of the Clinical Manager or Practice Administrator.
