Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team at Lancaster General Health in Lancaster, PA.

About the Job

This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week with varied shifts including every other weekend and holiday. As a Respiratory Care Specialist, you will be responsible for administering respiratory care services in accordance with department policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Administer physician-prescribed treatment/testing to patients in all clinical areas according to physician order and/or department policy and procedure.
  • Perform physician-ordered arterial blood sample collection and perform subsequent analysis on an arterial blood gas analyzer for oxygen, carbon dioxide, pH, and oxygen saturation levels.
  • Establish, monitor, and adjust ventilator management of the critically ill patient requiring mechanical ventilation, under the direction of a physician and/or established physician protocol.
  • Provide complete and accurate documentation according to department policies for performed services.
Requirements
  • CPR certification.
  • Certification as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (or hold a temporary permit) by the PA State Board of Medicine.
  • Graduate AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Program. Individual must be registered or registry eligible.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year of neonatal intensive care experience.
  • One (1) year of arterial gas punctures.
  • One (1) year of ventilator management.
  • Registry through NBRC - one (1) year.

The estimated salary for this position is $83,000-$115,000 annually, based on experience and location.
