Job Title: Psychiatric Technician

Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Technician plays a vital role in the healthcare team at Wheeler Clinic, providing support and care to individuals with behavioral health and psychiatric disorders. This role requires a strong understanding of crisis intervention techniques, medical terminology, and electronic health records.

Responsibilities:

  • Collects and records patient information, including vital signs and medical history
  • Reviews patient informed consent and rights & responsibilities
  • Conducts questionnaires and observes patient behavior to document chief complaints and social histories
  • Collaborates with medical and behavioral health teams to develop treatment plans
  • Participates in regular supervision meetings to review expectations and goals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or related field (preferred)
  • 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting (or equivalent)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and medical terminology
