Position Overview
  • Prepares, seasons, and cooks a variety of dishes, including soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts.
Core Responsibilities
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in food preparation and serving areas to uphold safe and sanitary food-handling standards.
  • Monitors and adjusts cooking temperatures to ensure food is stored and prepared at optimal levels.
  • Checks the quality and freshness of ingredients, managing inventory effectively by rotating stock.
  • Utilizes recipes and personal expertise to season and cook food to perfection.
  • Employs various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming for meats, fish, vegetables, and other items.
  • Tastes and evaluates dishes to confirm they meet cooking standards.
  • Prepares fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding them for use in meals.
  • Carves and portions meats for both hot and cold service.
  • Collaborates with management to develop menus, taking into account budgetary constraints and special event requirements.
  • Oversees and directs the activities of kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
