Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Bon Secours. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide indirect and direct patient care, including vital signs, medical histories, and administering medications as directed by the provider.
  • Contribute to the completion of patient chief complaints, document patient/family needs, and participate in planning and implementing care for patients.
  • Assist with virtual health visits, including setting up the visit, pre-charting, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Manage in-basket messages, document in electronic medical records, and perform front desk workflows as needed.
  • Follow up on orders, appointments, referrals, and follow-up visits, and collect co-pays as required.
Requirements
  • Active Medical Assisting certification from a recognized organization (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA, NHA, NCRMA, NCMA, NCCT).
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (required for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations).
  • High School/GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant post-secondary education program (or equivalent in South Carolina).
  • 1 year of recent Medical Assisting experience (preferred).
