Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as a County Extension Agent – Agriculture. This role will focus on conducting educational programs in agriculture and 4-H youth development, working closely with county clientele to encourage support and participation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement educational programs in agriculture and 4-H youth development, including workshops, training sessions, and other outreach activities.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to county clientele on agriculture-related topics, including crop management, soil conservation, and pest management.
  • Collaborate with other extension professionals, county officials, and community leaders to identify and address the needs of county residents.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local farmers, ranchers, and other stakeholders to promote the use of best management practices and improve agricultural productivity.
  • Conduct research and gather data to inform extension programming and policy decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture or a related field, such as agronomy, horticulture, or agricultural education.
  • Knowledge of agriculture and 4-H youth development principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and community engagement.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently.
