About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Robert Bosch Fuel Systems, LLC in Kentwood, MI. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the assembly and test of diesel fuel injectors and pumps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Test: Responsible for the assembly and test of diesel fuel injectors and pumps to ensure high-quality products.
  • Manufacturing Engineering Support: Provide support to the shop floor team to troubleshoot quality issues and machine downtime, identifying root causes and contacting vendors for spare parts or service support.
  • Project Leadership: Lead projects to upgrade old equipment, implement Lean Line Design, reduce costs, improve productivity, and minimize scrap.
  • Quality Management: Lead customer or internal quality issues using Bosch Problem Solving techniques (8D, Shainin, etc.) to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Product Launch: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch new products, preparing them for series production.
  • Engineering Change Requests: Review and implement Engineering Change Requests related to product or process changes.
  • Design and Development: Design, specify, run off, and qualify new semi-automated assembly stations, test equipment, and gauges.
  • Process Documentation: Create and maintain process documents and instructions, including Work Instructions, Control Plans, P-FMEA, Capability studies, and Value Stream Design.
  • Training and Development: Support shop floor supervisors with employee training and development.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering degree.
  • Experience: 3 years of professional experience in diesel fuel injector and pump functional testing, design of assembly stations or testing equipment, SolidWorks CAD software, precision gauging, ergonomic design, and Lean Manufacturing tools and methods.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in teaching and working with all levels of the organization, experience in coordinating and managing multiple tasks, effective root cause analysis and problem-solving skills, discipline and consistency in adhering to company standards, and proficiency in working on cross-functional teams.
