As a key member of our coaching staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our recreational classes, providing instruction and demonstration of gymnastics skills and techniques to children of all ages, and maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Recreational Class Coordination: Collaborate with our coaching staff to ensure all recreational classes are run efficiently and effectively. Assist with instruction and demonstration of gymnastics skills and techniques to children of all ages, primarily between 2 and 14 years old.
- Set Up and Prepare Gym Rotations: Work with our on-floor coaching staff to set up and organize equipment for drill stations, circuits, and obstacle courses for all classes. Ensure the gym area is safe-proofed and well-prepared for all activities.
- Spotting and Safety: Assist with spotting athletes during exercises and routines to ensure proper technique and prevent injuries. This role will also assist in the event of an accident.
- Substitute Coaching: Be available to substitute for any coach who is absent, maintaining consistency and quality of instruction.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and orderly gym environment. Ensure all equipment is properly stored and maintained.
- Supportive Environment: Foster a positive atmosphere that encourages learning and growth. Engage with children in a friendly and supportive manner to promote self-confidence and skill development.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with parents, staff, and the public regarding class updates, student progress, and any other relevant information.
- Assist in Program Development: Collaborate with other coaches to develop innovative and fun lesson plans and activities.
- Experience in gymnastics is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work with children of all ages, particularly between 2 and 14 years old.
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
- Enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about working with children in a gymnastics setting.
15-20 hours per week with the availability to work Saturday or Sunday
