Job Summary and QualificationsPosition Overview:
As a Cardiovascular Special Procedures Technologist, you will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of human growth and development, assessment, and the treatment and care of patients.
In this role, you will assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic procedures, recording and monitoring these cases while understanding hemodynamic measurements and readings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer contrast media in accordance with age and weight-specific guidelines.
- Set up sterile trays and maintain a sterile field following hospital protocols.
- Scrub and assist the interventional physician during procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of pharmaceuticals, including their actions, side effects, and contraindications.
- Establish and maintain IV access.
- Accurately document procedures in Meditech, scan documents, and verify images in PACS.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Current license or registry certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or completion of this advanced registration within one year of hire.
- Current license or registry from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology, licensed through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered Radiologic Technologist [RT(R)].
- Candidates with 8 years of procedural experience may be considered, but must complete the advanced registration/certification (RCIS or RCES from CCI) or obtain their Radiologic Technologist license within one year of hire.
- BLS certification required.- Completion of ACLS training within 6 months of hire.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, guests, physicians, and colleagues.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Cath lab or EP lab is preferred, though new graduates from RCIS programs will be considered.
