Responsibilities

Job Description:

As an Ophthalmic Specialist at Atlantic Vision Partners, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Surgical Procedures: Performing corrective surgeries such as repairing injuries and corneas, and removing cataracts.
  • Advanced Surgical Techniques: Conducting keyhole or laser surgery to treat various eye conditions.
  • Disease Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnosing and treating eye diseases and injuries, utilizing cutting-edge technology and techniques.
  • Clinical Management: Managing emergency eye clinics, outpatient clinics, or other specialist eye clinics, ensuring seamless patient flow and efficient operations.
  • Holistic Approach: Treating medical disorders that affect vision through a comprehensive approach, considering the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Therapeutic Procedures: Utilizing therapeutic procedures and performing biopsies to diagnose and treat various eye conditions.
  • Routine Care: Providing routine care such as vision testing and prescribing glasses and contact lenses, maintaining excellent patient relationships.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A medical degree in ophthalmology, with successful completion of an internship and residency.
  • A state license to practice ophthalmology, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Expert working knowledge of the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye, staying up-to-date with industry advancements.
  • Strong physics and math skills, combined with excellent medical knowledge and decision-making abilities.
  • Good administrative and managerial skills, ensuring smooth clinic operations and effective teamwork.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, crucial for precise surgical procedures.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, essential for navigating complex clinical scenarios.
  • A willingness to submit to a background check, demonstrating commitment to professional integrity.
