Position Overview:
The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality medical care within the surgical department. This position involves comprehensive patient assessments, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions tailored to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations to determine health status.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies.
  • Diagnose health issues and develop treatment plans based on clinical findings.
  • Prescribe medications and initiate appropriate treatments.
  • Perform routine medical procedures, including injections and wound care.
  • Provide patient education regarding treatment options and medication management.

Reporting Structure:
This role reports directly to the supervising physician and the Operations Manager of Practice Management.

Physical Demands:
Potential exposure to infectious materials and various health risks. Adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Oklahoma.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Effective communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Registered Nurse First Assistant.
  • Acute Care Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner certification (AG-ACNP) is highly desirable.
