Educational Support Specialist (Instructional Aide), Long-Term Substitute

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Educational Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting educators and school administrators in managing student engagement during instructional periods and throughout the educational environment as directed by the supervising teacher or principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess at least one of the following: a Bachelor's or Associate's Degree and/or a passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with students and adults alike.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of a certified educator, the Educational Support Specialist will:
1. Prepare for classroom activities and assist in instructional delivery.
2. Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce concepts introduced by the teacher.
3. Provide specialized support tailored to the unique needs and objectives of students.
4. Assist with non-instructional tasks such as lunch supervision, restroom routines, and other daily activities.
5. Support the teacher in grading assignments, overseeing assessments, and managing make-up work.
6. Help in the preparation of classroom displays and maintain educational equipment.
7. Participate in supervising students during recess, lunch, and other transitional periods.
8. Engage in professional development opportunities as required.
9. Complete additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervising educator.
