About the Role:

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role within our Building Technologies & Solutions division at Johnson Controls.

This position involves maintaining various facilities and grounds, ensuring they are safe and operational. The ideal candidate will possess a background in maintenance and facility management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in routine repairs of building structures, including wall repairs, painting, and flooring maintenance.
  • Conduct safety checks on heating, cooling, and other essential equipment.
  • Adhere to the work order system, interpreting and completing tasks as instructed.
  • Perform cleaning duties such as dusting, mopping, and trash removal.
  • Mix and apply cleaning and maintenance chemicals according to specifications.
  • Operate groundskeeping equipment for mowing, planting, and trimming.
  • Manage sprinkler systems and perform corrective actions for lawn care.
  • Ensure all light fixtures are functional and replace bulbs as needed.
  • Assist in the layout and construction of various building components.
  • Conduct routine security checks of the premises.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to three years of general maintenance experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Physical capability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
