Job Title: Inspector V

As an Inspector V, you will investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation in state hospitals, managed care, and community intellectual and developmental disability services. Your work will involve conducting interviews, collecting evidence, and analyzing data to determine the validity of allegations. You will also be responsible for writing comprehensive reports and communicating with stakeholders to ensure that cases are resolved in a timely and effective manner.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work, psychology, or a related field, and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be able to navigate complex situations with tact and diplomacy. Essential Job Functions:

• Conducts interviews with individuals who have made allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Collects and analyzes evidence related to the investigation.
• Writes comprehensive reports summarizing the findings of the investigation.
• Communicates with stakeholders, including family members, caregivers, and healthcare providers, to ensure that cases are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
• Participates in case conferences and meetings with supervisors and peers to discuss case progress and disposition.
• Attends training and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and policies.
• Works independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of Texas laws and regulations related to adult protective services and intellectual and developmental disability services.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to analyze complex data and make sound judgments based on evidence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
